Trail / Sky Running

  • Trail Running - Used to doing your usual loop around the park, along a footpath or on the track, but getting bored of it? Or want to add some hills, wilderness  and exciting views but feel a little overwhelmed by the concept of combining a mountain walk with the effort of a slow run? Tried it but don't know how to pace yourself? What can you do in a day? Where can you go? What to wear? What kit to take? How much food/drink will you need?
I can start you off... I'm sure you'll love it!

  • Sky Running - This is mountain trail running over Grade 1 scrambling ground. You will be running the  easier ground and moving fast while light on the more technical ground. This requires fitness but more importantly also experience and ability to move safely and efficiently while climbing rocky ridges (up and down!).
This is one of my favourite ways of moving around the hills in North Wales; maybe its because I'm not fit enough to keep going on the uphill slogs where its just a case of putting one foot infront of the other, or maybe I enjoy the speed at which your brain needs to go to keep concentrating along the more exposed ridges. Whatever the reason, I find it exhilarating and so much interesting ground can be covered in a short amount of time.
    Try it!
